RTHUR ATTUNEMENT - 2010

This project was created for Invisible Cities Audio Tour, an audio tour of Oakland created by artists and poets. I took as my subject MacArthur BART Station.

One day I rode the BART back and forth all day, repeatedly transferring trains at MacArthur Station and shooting footage. The resulting video consists of this footage plus spin shots of beautiful trash I found in the gutter around the station, which relates to my interest in the physical detritus of our lives that was explored in Self Archaeology.

I also created souvenirs consisting of an aluminum glass-top bin containing one bit of treasure-trash and an image of someone who made eye contact with me during the transfer.

> While editing this video I stuck to a simple, pre-planned formula, resulting in a kind of minimalist structure. In a reaction to this, I resisted pre-planned formulas while creating Mortal Treasures.
