Farley Gwazda works primarily with the mediums of video, drawing, and installation. At the core of his practice is an ongoing series of drawings which explore combinatronics, formal similarity, symmetry, and the ambiguous borderlands between representation and abstraction. These drawings have led to the creation of multiple projects structured by gamelike participatory activities. He is conceptually interested in the nature of consciousness, the intersection of vision and language, the exploration of personal history, imitation as the building block of culture, the sociology of scientific knowledge and the function of interpretation.
